, 1 Jan 2006Reviewer: Liz B (Ickenham United Kingdom)I read this book and drank my last drink about two weeks before Christmas two years ago. I have never looked back. Plenty of people dismissed my 'giving up'as temporary and a bloke I know who goes to AA said 'don't worry if you relapse, it's bound to happen!' Well, it isn't bound to happen if you go about quitting the right way, and this book tells you what the right way is. Not drinking is so great, I wish I'd realised it a long time back. I now feel healthy all the time, and no longer get drunk and say stupid things, spend loads of money and give myself a hangover. But the best thing about it is knowing you are not a slave to anything any more. If you are in two minds about quitting (which is what is meant by controlling it - nothing else works and the book explains why), why not give the book a go anyway. After all, a book can't make you give up if you don't want to. What have you got to lose?
